Often, I receive calls that sound similar to this, “I have an X horsepower blower that I want to replace with a Republic blower. What blower do I need?”
Many times companies will try to match up blowers simply based on horsepower size and this can quickly lead to operation problems in the field. Even among just regenerative blowers there can be vast performance differences between blowers with identical horsepower due to design intentions, such as the difference between a single stage or a double stage blower. One blower may be intended to create very high flow at a low pressure and another may create 2 to 3 times that pressure at a lower flow.
When replacing a blower, always match performance curves, not the horsepower.
Within the next few weeks, I will post more information about choosing the right blower.
